This course is designed to enable service providers to sort fact from fiction, develop knowledge on duty of care, address barriers and make referrals when supporting a person with disability to use the services of the sex industry.
Topics covered include:
- Facts about the sex industry
- Background and aims of Touching Base Inc.
- Duty of care implications when assisting people with disability to access sex services
- Barriers for people with disability in accessing sex services
- How to confidently discuss a client’s needs in relation to accessing sex services
- Steps required to support a person with disability to access sex services using the Touching Base Policy and Procedural Guide
The workshop will be interactive with group activities and plenty of group discussions. Registration fee includes a copy of the Touching Base Policy and Procedural Guide for disability service providers supporting clients to access sex services.
All participants receive a workbook, which includes a list of resources that may be used by workers and their clients with disability, as well as a copy of the 'Touching Base Policy and Procedural Guide for disability service providers supporting clients to access sex services.'
This course is delivered by Touching Base Inc. in partnership with Family Planning Australia.
