Implanon is a sub-dermal contraceptive method which has been available in Australia for the last three years. The aim of this study was to determine womens experiences, like and dislikes with the method, continuation rates and bleeding patterns. This study mirrored a study which was conducted by the Sydney Centre for Reproductive Health Research when the device was first introduced to Australia.
Objectives of study:
Women were surveyed at the time of device insertion and at three, six and twelve months after the insertion to determine their experiences and acceptability of implanon.
