Advocacy

Family Planning Australia advocates for the reproductive and sexual health and rights of everybody in every family, and supports people in our community who are marginalised and vulnerable.

We advocate for reproductive and sexual health rights at state, national, and international levels by working with the NSW and Australian Government, foreign governments, UN agencies, local and international non-government organisations and partners.

Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, United Nations member states agreed to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which included 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The Sustainable Development Goals are a collection of global goals designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all". They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, education, health and wellbeing, peace and justice.

How we advocate

As a leading Australian provider of reproductive and sexual health services, Family Planning Australia is frequently consulted on policies and practices related to our expertise.

Our focus is to translate research findings into clinical practice and teaching and in guiding government and other decision-making bodies on best practice reproductive and sexual health services and rights. We are recognised as an expert commentator and opinion leader in reproductive and sexual health.

Accreditations

Our suite of services has been accredited by national and international independent organisations. This not only covers our expert clinical services but includes our education and research activities and cross-functional work undertaken by our International team.
